I, Too by Langston Hughes by BJ Neblett

I, Too by Langston Hughes

Hello again. Seems I've been a bit remiss about posting here lately. Sorry about that, but I have no one to blame but myself... and maybe my publisher. I've been working hard to get my latest book finished. It is book two of the Planet Alt-Sete-Nine saga, titled Planet Alt-Sete-Nine: The Lost Princess. We are hoping for an early 2021 release. I'll keep you posted.
In the mean time I'll be posting here hopefully with a bit more regularity. Since there are many more who can, and have said it better than I ever can, here is the first of poems from others that still hold a strong relativity today. And after all, isn't that what good writing is all about?
Enjoy,
BJ

I, Too
by Langston Hughes

I, too, sing America.

I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.

Tomorrow,
I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
Then.

Besides,
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed---

I, too, am America.

New Book Release And A Retraction

My new memoir, Ice Cream Camelot has been released as a paperback, although it may be ten days to two weeks before it is available in book stores and on line including Amazon.com.
But more importantly, the back cover of the book and the press release contain a quote attributed to, but not from author KJ McPike. KJ is a talented writer, with two great must read Young Adult books currently out: Xodus and Nemesis, both available through Amazon. KJ's quote should have read: "Neblett paints a vivid picture of the 1960s that will make readers feel like they are right there with him."

Peace,
BJ
