Ah the purity of truth as revealed in conflict

How revealing it is

Sloughing the detritus

Removing the shell

Exposing what we feel

And growing

There is no value in only joy

Endless sun scorches the flesh

And evolving

There is no value in only pain

Swirling waters drown the body

But in balance

Love is never easy... especially when it come to expressing it...

Every time I tried to tell you the words just came out wrong/

So I'll have to say I love you in a song

Love is a gift

Wrapped in embraces and ribboned with kisses

Love is a treasure

Long searched for yet found buried deep inside one’s own heart

Love is a blessing

Sent from above on a dove’s wings and

Felt with every caress

Love is a song

Its melody reverberating in your soul

And heard in your loved one’s sigh

Love is a summons

From your heart to run into his arms

And feel safe and warm

Love is a request

From her soul to your heart to hold her tight

And never let go

Love is an epiphany

When all the turmoil is quieted and the clouds

Lift at the mere thought that they are near

Love is a wonder, Love is a comfort, Love is a dream come true,
Love is a sacrifice, Love is devotion, fulfillment, endearing, thoughtful, kind, caring, peaceful, strength, honor…

Love is the two of you together at last.

Sunday February 1 A Month Of Love from BJ Neblett

Hello and welcome to February, the month of love. Regular readers of this blog and of my short stories know that I am a hopeless romantic. I write regularly for Romance Magazine (Click the image at the right) and each Valentine's Day I try and do something special for my readers. This year my good pal and fellow writer Carol Griffin and I have teamed up to bring you a month full of romantic music, poetry, scenery, stories and more. Check back here each and every day this month for a new posting on everyone's favorite subject: romance! I was in my quiet existence
Reveling in the calm from within
Then I felt the wind pickup, baby
And I knew your love storm was about to begin
I felt the slightest tremble in my legs
As my heart confirmed it was true love that I found
That’s when I saw your approach and I started to lose ground
I was swept up in the wind of your embrace so I held on fast
But as you sent a rain of sweet kisses all over me
I gave in and let go of the hurt from my past

You’ve become my private storm
Sweeping away all the debris
Removing all the wreckage I held close
Foolishly thinking that it could protect me
